The Zen Factor
Updated: Jan 19
Living Walls can improve our wellbeing and make us more productive. Why?...beacuse plants appeal to our innate desire to seek connections with nature and in doing so make us more alert and upbeat.
Biophilic Design is the practise of intentionally designing our homes and work places to include natural elements. The idea of re-connecting people with nature through the introduction of Living Walls and other green elements is well documented.
Studies show that people in spaces with vegetation compared to those lacking vegetation are more likely to experience reduced psychological and physiological stress, more positive moods, increased ability to focus attention, reduced mental fatigue and improved performance on cognitive tasks. At BioWall we refer to this as the ‘Zen Factor’.
